Cultural instructions:

• Open packaging immediately on receipt and stand upright where appropriate. 
• Remove bagging if present on the pots. If plants seem dry, place roots/pots in a tray of water for half an hour. 
• When growing in containers, don’t fill to the brim with compost. Leave up to 2.5cm (1") of pot on show to allow for watering – halve this for small pots and cell trays. 
• If growing on the windowsill, turn plants regularly to prevent them stretching towards the light. 
• Pots should always have drainage holes, but place on saucers/trays to prevent surface staining. It also helps retain extra water during summer heat. 
• Always water prior to planting or potting on. 
• Prepare soils ahead of planting. For the best establishment, work compost and the included Incredibloom Fertiliser into the growing area. These will also give you the best results in containers displays too. Alternatively opt for regular liquid feeds through the season, starting at 6 weeks after planting. 
• Avoid planting when soils are too wet or frozen. 
• Acclimatise all indoor grown plants to outside conditions. Harden off by placing outside by day and back undercover each evening for 7 - 10 days

Planting in-ground (bed or border):

• Garden ready plants are ready to go straight into the garden. 
• Remember that these young plants are frost tender and must not be placed outdoors until all danger of frost has passed in your area.

Planting in containers or baskets:

Maintenance:

• It is important to water on a regular basis as baskets and containers on a sunny patio can dry out quite quickly on a hot summer’s day. Watering is always best done in the evening when plants will have a chance to take in the moisture overnight and will look fresh the next day
• Deadheading: It is always wise to remove old spent blooms on a regular basis as this will encourage more blooms to reappear and create a cleaner, longer lasting display all summer.
• Regular feeding should begin 6 - 8 weeks after planting into the ground or containers; this will enhance your plants. General fertilisers will be sufficient if applied as recommended.
• To produce quality blooms many gardeners use high potash low nitrogen feeds such as tomato plant food. Specialist container and basket feeds are available and produce good results. Never over feed as this may harm your plants.
• As plants are often crowded in containers some pruning may be required in addition to the normal practice of removing faded blooms and pruning back straggly growth.
• Do not let the plants produce seed heads as this often means that they will stop flowering.
