Cultural instructions:
  • Plant in borders, near a wall, fence or tree where it can climb. Trachelospermum like the warmth, so near a wall which reflects the heat is much favoured. Trachelospermum is a climber so you may wish to weave through natural obstacles or fix wires to weave through
  • Water to keep the soil moist. This will be more during hot spells. Mulch to keep the moisture in the ground. During winter the plant requires no additional water to that provided by nature
  • Prune your Trachelospremum to fit into its environment once mature. If it becomes too large or unruly, they can take a hard -prune to two-thirds removed
  • The leaves change colour in winter but do not drop. Mulching is preferred to protect the roots in winter. Ensure the soil is well-drained because they do not like waterlogging
