What's your favourite plant and why?

My favourite plant is a rose, because they really are the gift that keeps on giving! As long as they're fed and watered well, they will flower for years with minimal maintenance or even pruning.

What inspired you to start gardening?

My grandparents were both very keen gardeners and as a child, I was very fortunate to spend a lot of time in their garden. I remember picking runner beans and tomatoes with my grandpa and sowing nasturtium seeds with my grandma.

Describe your dream garden. How does it look?

My dream garden isn't huge, but it would be special nonetheless, with a true cottage feel. I would love to have an oak tree and lots of floriferous borders, apple trees, climbing roses and chickens running around.

What is your number one gardening tip everyone should know?

There are many 'rules' in gardening. Break them! We all have different ways of learning and it's important to find the right way for you.
