QVC was founded in June 1986 by Joseph Segel, and began broadcasting in the United States in November 1986. QVC UK launched on 1st October 1993 followed by QVC Germany in December 1996 and QVC Japan in April 2001. Italy launched in October 2010 and China launched in July 2012.
The US led the way, launching in 1986. Its headquarters and Distribution Centre are based in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
QVC Germany launched in December 1996. Its headquarters are based in Düsseldorf and its Distribution Centre is in Hüeckelhoven.
QVC Japan launched in April 2001. Its headquarters are based in Makuhari and its Distribution Centre is in Sakura City.
QVC Italy launched in October 2010. Its headquarters are based in Brugherio, near Milan and its Distribution Centre is in Castel San Giovanni.
QVC’s joint venture with China National Radio (CR) launched in July 2012. Its headquarters and Distribution Centre are in Beijing.
Creating a new European leadership role
We are actively exploring opportunities to enter additional European markets and even further afield. With the launch of QVC France in autumn 2015, QVC will expand its global multimedia eCommerce business to seven operations reaching nine countries. Itâs fair to say that exciting times lie ahead for QVC as a global multi-channel retailer.
