I bought this expecting to be able to use it on holiday. (I wear 15 or 20 spf protection absolutely every day - although not Ultrasun).
Tried it when it arrived - didn't think it went on particularly easily - but - I really wanted good protection in hot conditions so packed it in my suitcase.
Sorry but it just melted off my face!! because I got the honey shade I ended up looking as if I had been 'tango'd' according to my hubby and as it slipped down my face and neck - it stained and destroyed what I was wearing including my bra. I had to find wipes to try to remove it from my face when we were out...I was sooo embarrassed.
Out of time to return now that I am back at home.....but this is for the bin...I think the search continues to find what I am looking for... sorry Ultrasun

Really wanted to love this product, but couldn't. Really wanted to like this product, but didn't.
Firstly, let me say that I use quite a few Ultrasun products, and I have recommended them highly to many friends, however, this new tinted face spf 50 was such a disappointment. I find it impossible to wear with makeup as the finish is patchy and shows up pores I didn't know I had! I have tried it with powder foundations and cream and stick foundations, everything just slides off within an hour. worse still, it has blocked my pores and given me spots…at my age! no thank you! The ingredients are very different to the face spf 30 and spf 50 which are excellent products. It must be something to do with the tint (I chose Ivory) which I thought was going to be a bonus, but unfortunately not. I will use this product up on the back of my hands, and on my shoulders, but I will not apply to my face anymore. Not for me.

I use pretty much the whole ultrasun range between me and my family and always on my face after a deep chemical peel. This product is just the best - light gel like consistency and a lovely colour (I use the honey) and it goes on really well, blends perfectly and is the best base for mineral foundation. The only thing that would make this better (and I wish Ultrasun would do it) would be to add in the special anti-pigmentation element that is in my other, usual 50+ face.

Sorry but I found the new light shade to be completely colourless on my pale skin. Having previously tried the deeper shade (which made my face just look dirty) I thought this would be ideal, but no, it didn't look as though as I was wearing anything. In fact I noticed that I even seemed to have little white dots in my pores!
I really like the Ultrasun anti-pigmentation face 50, so will continue with that with Bare Minerals on top.

I am an Ultrasun geek and have been using it for years. I tried the original tinted version but because I am really, really pale I found it too dark for me. That was ok because I used to mix it with the original Face 30 to make my own shade. Then when the anti pigmentation formula came out I moved to using Face 50 all year round so didn't want to lower my spf by mixing. I was so, so happy when this new Ivory shade was made and even more so that it was spf 50. I will say that it is an extremely light shade so may not suit everyone, but I think the original shade (now called Honey) would suit most people that this is too light for. I would say that it is very slightly thinner in texture than the anti pigmentation version, but it is still quite thick so does need to be rubbed in quite quickly. This is my new every day obsession and I am saving the anti pigmentation for any hot weather that we get. x

I'm afraid I don't agree with the other reviews of the light option. I was one of the people last year pleading for a light version of the tinted 30 which wasn't for me - made me look orange! So when I saw this, I was so pleased and ordered it right away. However, I did read the reviews below before opening it as I had some plain 30 to finish off. I therefore expected it to be too pale on me too and, if so, planned to buy the dark version and mix the two together to get the right shade. However, this on its own pleasantly surprised me. I have fair/light skin, not porcelain, and am even using self tan at the moment (Tan Luxe face serum and Utan nourishing night cream, both of which are great) and still the light option is great on me. It just blends with my skintone really well. I suspect this may be because I have a blue-based undertone. Many tinted formulas (not just Ultrasun dark) look orange on me and perhaps this is because they are for yellow undertones. So if you are fair/blue-based, I would highly recommend this. Thanks, Abi, for bringing it to us, though reading the reviews I am thinking you may need to stretch to three shades (light, medium and dark).

nowhere on the product description does it describe this as a tinted gel/cream application (which it is) This formula melts on to the skin because of the gel formula and it's shade of honey suits my med/fair skin ideally. I used as advised straight onto cleansed skin and was pleased with the effect of a matt tinted moisturiser needing no further moisturisation even though I would describe my skin now as dry. I look healthy and have the confidence to know I am protecting my skin from sun pigmentation. The appearance of which, I feel is an instant age label. QUITE A DIFFERENT FORMULATION TO FACE 30 TINTED. So if that (like me) wasn't for you then I heartily recommend this

I love Ultrasun products but I agree with the other reviewers. The light is far too pale for my very fair skin and doesn't blend. It dry dry on my skin and made anything I put on top patchy. Sorry but I'll be returning it. I love all of Abi's other products though.
