Reviews & Customer Q&A

Rated 2 out of 5 by Very disappointed Like several other reviews, this jacket is disappointing. Really wanted to like it as thought it would be a useful addition to my wardrobe. The lower sleeves were too tight and a struggle to get on and off. Also the collar was very uncomfortable with the glittery bits scratching my neck. Also found this problem with other bits of fabric which came into contact with my skin, ie under the arms if worn with a vest top etc. Think Michele needs to be more aware of these things before presenting them. Another expensive mistake from her range which I am finding increasing disappointing . Used to buy a lot, especially lace items which I am still pleased with. January 11, 2017
Rated 2 out of 5 by Too tight I have to agree, I loved this jacket, , almost perfect. The sleeves are too tight. Otherwise I would have kept it! I am a 14/16, & struggled with this. The fabric & sparkle are beautiful! December 10, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by disappointed First time buy from this designer. Fairly disappointed. Like previous reviewers, the arms are too tight, I could only wear this bare arms and it still looks slightly wrong. Because of having to wear this bare arms, I can feel the cut off sparkly bits on my skin where there are seams and the over-locker has cut the silver bits, on the arms and over the shoulder. It is a cutting uncomfortable sensation. This makes it very uncomfortable to wear. First and last time for Michele Hope December 09, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Just LOVE this I have seen a lot of negative comments regarding this item but I have to say, I ordered the size 10-12 and the fit is beautiful. It looks fabulous on - material is amazing and it's looks so much more expensive than it was. It is disappointing when something arrives and it doesn't fit/material not as expected etc etc but personally the item I received was absolutely gorgeous and I will certainly enjoy wearing it not just over Christmas/Hogmanay but during 2017 and beyond - Love it. Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice jacket I ordered this in black size 14/16. It's a great fit. I just didn't like the front . It seemed too bulky. I loved the sparkle but would like it better without the turned back front bit. I found the arms just right. They are tighter than usual but fine for me. Hopefully Michele will do a different style jacket in this materiel. December 04, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super jacket - amazing price! I just want to write in defence of both this jacket and Michele Hope's quality at every level of the design and manufacturing process. The presentation, with Anne Dawson and Michele Hope, on Sunday 27 November '16, made it very clear that this is more of a jacket, not a lightweight 'cardi' style - with the revers at the front lined in the same fabric, which is often only seen on expensive lines. The fabric is also quite thick, and almost looks as if it is lined in a poly taffeta. It was emphasised that this is a jacket to be noticed in! Not for a quiet entrance. I don't see it as gaudy, more as a dramatic and fun statement piece. I bought a Size 10/12 and that's my usual Michele Hope size. It fits perfectly. The sleeves are a lovely fit too, not too wide for me or too long. The fabric has a good weight to it, and the well-designed revers fall beautifully. Prior to trying it on I had been wearing a Yong Kim sweater knit jacket over a Kim & Co sweater knit tunic. I found Michele's jacket to be heavier and warmer than the Yong Kim and a third of the cost, p&P included! It would probably be too warm to wear to certain functions all evening, but it would make a useful evening jacket - to wear at the theatre, for example, where it can sometimes be chilly before the theatre fills up. It is light enough to be removed and left folded on my knees - much better than taking a longer 'coat' which has to be left in the theatre cloakroom, with all the queues to contend with after the show. With luck I shall be wearing it for my annual trip to the wonderful local panto in my city - and, yes - it is a very noticeable jacket! It will twinkle even more under the panto lights! And at 70++ I shall enjoy being slightly OTT for a change. Regarding the criticism of this garment's manufacture, I find my jacket to be very well made indeed, and I did study fashion design and dressmaking in my youth. No garment design is perfect for everyone, and if this jacket was to be tweaked in future, I would like to see pockets added. Designers can't please all the women all the time, and I also appreciate that there may have been some faults in the jackets received by those buyers who have written such critical reviews about this product. I bought my first Michele Hope garment sixteen years ago, and I was impressed with the quality of fabric and the attention to detail in the manufacturing. I have never experienced any faults in the sewing/cutting element of any of Michele's clothes, and if I had to return a garment it was because it didn't suit me or perhaps was too long for me, with a design that was extremely difficult to alter. I was slimmer 16 years ago, and I often had my wonderful dressmaker friend 'take in' and shorten some of the clothes that I loved, but found a wee bit too big for me. Now I am suitably larger to find size 10/12 is fine for me. If you want to 'sparkle' outrageously this winter, then I recommend you give this jacket a try. If you have large upper arms it may be too close a fit for you, and if you have a large bust it could fall in a way that you do not like. Going up a size might be the answer? We all take a risk when we buy 'unseen', but we do have that very useful 30 days to try out a garment and then return, even if we have cut off the label! I hope to see a few more positive reviews for this quality garment that is a fun item to wear, and is available at a very reasonable price. Thank you Michele Hope and thank you QVC. December 02, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Arms too Tight I normally order a 10/12 as although I am a 14 the 14/16 in blouses is always too large. I liked the look of this jacket, which is a lovely velvet and excellent value, unfortunately the arms are so tight, even with bare arms, and there is absolutely no give in the material. It is definitely a jacket and would look great with black velvet trousers. Sadly going back and will have to think again about what to wear to special occasions. On reflection may be I should have ordered a 14/16 but I assume the arms would still be tight. December 02, 2016
