Important information -
Hive offer a 30-day cooling off period once the system is installed, so it can be uninstalled within this time at no cost. After 30 days, to uninstall, there will be a fee of £80. Please refer to the above Hive Installation Procedure document for more details. 

Easy installation - backed by British Gas, installation comes as part of the price and it doesn't matter who supplies your energy. Use the voucher provided in the welcome guide and pick a time to suit you - the British Gas engineer will bring the hub and receiver with them on the day of installation. Hive works with your existing boiler and usually takes up to 90 minutes to install. Please note: see Hive’s Terms and Conditions above , which will apply between you and Hive for the installation of the product. Refer to the Boiler Compatibility document above which includes a list of boilers which are not compatible with this Hive Active Heating with installation offer - check before purchasing.

Take control - with the app on your mobile, laptop or tablet, it’s as easy to control your heating and hot water as it is to change the TV channel. You can also send your command to Hive by text, plus you can put a PIN lock on your app or thermostat so children can’t tamper with it.

Set schedules - you can set between one and six timeslots a day and create schedules to fit in with your life, plus with the temperature ­graphs you can keep track of how you are using­ your heatin­g. The holiday mode lets you tell Hive your holiday dates so your heating will sleep until you return, and you'll always come back to a warm home.

Get a boost - switch your heating on and off, up or down and set temperatures. If you want to extend your heating outside your usual heating schedule, just use the boost button. You can also turn your hot water on and off for those times when you need it, and boost your hot water for up to six hours.

Automatic frost protection - automatically activates when your heating is off and the temperature inside your home dips below 7C, helping to protect pipes from freezing.

Geolocation - based on your phone’s location, Hive will send you reminders to turn your heating on before you get home, or off if you’ve left it on when you go out.

Energy savings - Hive could help you save energy and money, as you'll only heat your home when you need to. Hive customers have saved up to £130 by changing the way they use their heating.
What you will need
  • A working­ central heating­ system. Hive can be installed on g­as or LPG systems - a list of incompatible boilers is attached
  • An existin­g broadband connection with a spare Ethernet port connection
  • An extra power socket close to your broadband router
  • For the Hive app you’ll need an Apple iPhone or iPad (iOS 7 or later) or a device runnin­g Android (min 4.0.3) - the app is available free on the App Store, Google Play store, and Amazon
  • A laptop or tablet with internet access and an up-to-date web browser (we recommend minimum: Internet Explorer 10 or the latest versions of Goo­gle Chrome, Firefox and Safari)
  • Hive is a British Gas innovation, but you don’t need to be a British Gas customer to buy the Hive products

Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth having I felt I had to add my comments as I've had the Hive for some time now. I work and have a dog at home and a dog walker comes in. I can set my heating for various times and temperatures remotely via my phone. I also have hive light bulbs in two lamps and again there is a schedule for them to come on. This means that remotely from anywhere in the country I can change my lighting times, for example, if I'm going to be late home I can have my lights on so I don't walk into a dark house. I've also added motion sensors which means I would be able to tell if the dog walker was going into any rooms apart from the kitchen. Last night I joined these to my lamps which means if the light is on when there is motion it will go off and again if the light is off it will go on. I've also added a Hive plug to my collection which means if I'm out late I can turn the electric blanket on, or even the coffee pot on my way home. If you have an elderly relative you too can access their hive with a specific code to check on their heating and to ensure they are warm. I am really pleased with the system and it was incredibly easy to set up. If I can do it anyone can. January 31, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by A best purchase I didn't buy this from QVC, I bought mine direct from British Gas but I wanted to write a review regardless because it is so worh having. Initially when the engineer was installing it I thought I bet this is a total waste of money - oh how wrong could I be! It has more than paid for itself in the time I have had it because it saves me having the heating on when it isn't needed, it enables me to reduce it from any room in the house even in bed and outside too while you are at work or in the car - anywhere. Instead of having the heating on timed I use the manual setting and it means I can adjust it when it suits me not according to a clock. Even if you spend a lot of time at home it is still worthwhile because whereas you may not bother to get up to adjust your thermostat manually you will with this on your phone because it's there and it's easy. One of my best ever purchases and I am pleased I was persuaded by my heating engineer to buy it. January 28, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant Found booking install online very easy only down sound was as winter time and engineers busy with breakdowns had to wait just over 2 1/2 weeks for install but am very pleased with end result British gas called 15 min before arrival whin the time slot I'd booked and install took about 30min The unit works a treat love having the safety of frost protection and being able to set times and boost from any where in world as long as I have mobile internet connection also if your wifi goes down you can still control all setting s from inside home would def recommend wish I'd brought sooner five stars November 24, 2016

Can see this is going to save money went out for the evening would normally just leave the heating on but turned the heating off when we left and put on half hour before we came home , in the first week we saved 10 hours of heating cost by using the app . Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product. So easy to use! I have just had this installed after buying from QVC. I was impressed with how quick I was able to get the installation scheduled and only a week or so after ordering, the system is installed and has simplified my life! The installation took a couple of hours and the British Gas engineer showed me all the controls and made sure everything worked OK before leaving. The app and web dashboard are very easy to use and make controlling your heating a doddle. For me, the bonus is that I can now choose when to switch the heating and hot water on and I am convinced this will save me money, as I previously just had both on standard daily timers, even when I may not be home due to working late etc. I can't sing the praises of this product highly enough and I have only had it installed for one day. I also have to admit that as a gadget geek I do love being able to control my heating from anywhere in the world :) The bonus for me is that QVC were offering at a £50 discount as a TSV. Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic product! I've had this system for over a year now and it's just amazing... ...so easy to use and worth every penny. It shows the temperature both outside and inside the home and I can turn heating/hot water on or off from wherever I am. Once installed, there are extras you can buy which when away, will turn your lights on and off as required and security sensors for doors. I cannot recommend this product high;y enough!
