Rated 5 out of 5 by RedTabby Perfect at noise cancelling
I have Misophonia which means I hate background noise with a vengeance. With these switched on there's immediate silence around me but I can hear my music perfectly. It's even good for the cinema - not plugged into my phone they cut out all the popcorn noise but I can still hear the film. Wonderful!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Meca Noise Reducing Definitely NOT Cancelling
I am an avid advocate of BOSE and have purchased many products through QVC. However I am extrememly disappointed with this item and the other BOSE option of noise Cancelling Headphones.
I did hum and ha about purchasing these in-ear version having already tried the Muff style, which were not comfortable and did not cancel out all the noise as the presenter stated it would.
However I did take the plunge as on easy pay. I do alot of Travel, via various methods, Car, Bus, Train, Tube and Plane. I can honestly say I have tried these in every scenario bar the going on a plane.
I can also assure you that they do reduce the amount of white noise, but they DO NOT cancel it out completely.
You can still hear people talking, quite clearly and you can still hear the noise made by the trains and tubes quite clearly. It is just not as loud as normal.
I will also state that the major disadvantage to this in-ear version is that subject to a change in pressure and altitude in the cabin, even opening the carriage door while in motion or a train or tube going past at speed, generates a massive sharp clicking and popping of ears! Which is really rather annoying, especially when going through the severn tunnel, which generates a good 12 mins long worth of popping!.
I can honestly say that there is no way on earth, either pair of headphones the muff style or the in-ear will block out the noise generated by an aircraft, if it cant cancel the noise of a tube or train.
That being said (hence me giving the 2 stars instead of zero), if the price had been significantly less, the popping exerience of the in-ear not been so annoying, I may well have kept these, as they are a slight improvement on my existing BOSE Headphones.
However after speaking with QVC Customer service today, explaining the situation and the experience I will be returning to QVC.
I can honestly say that the presentation was floored and a note to the BOSE presenter, if you want these kinds of products tested to ensure they do what you claim, you should let real people like myself, who do extensive travel via various methods, trial and test them for you, as they most definitely do NOT do what the presentation stated.
Thanks QVC for your time today for listening and arranging the collection. QVC Customer Service was excellent as always.

Description from the demo video use phrases like "complete noise cancellation" and "so good at noise cancellation".
Believe me those phrases are UNTRUE.
The background noise is reduced, agreed, BUT you can still hear it (with the aware button OFF).

Rated 5 out of 5 by scoooby2 Best Bose Product
I previously had the Bose QC15 headphones but wanted to use something that was small and portable yet still had the noise cancelling feature. I went with a few competitor brands but they just didn't make the cut.
I went with these headphones because a friend recommended them. I can honestly say that these are quite possible the best headphones I've ever used! They are with me every day.
Great balanced sound from the highs to the lows and comfortable to use, you don't even know they are in your ears.
If you are not sure what headphones to buy, get these because you won't be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by OGP Impeccable sound - shame about the quality.
You really cannot fault the sound quality of Bose. However, like all Bose earphones, you get to two years (days after the warranty expires) and find yourself without sound in one ear. Would really expect to be getting more out of the earphones considering the hefty price tag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by aquarian_phoenix Great Sound Quality but issues with remote
I bought them yesterday and was quite excited to hear the sounds and test the noise cancellation. However, while the sound was great, there are a couple of things I wasn't expecting.
1. I could still hear some chatting next to me very clearly, spoken in a normal tone. when I switched ON the Noise cancelling mode on the battery.
2. Also, what is disappointing is the "Aware mode" on the remote control doesn't seem to work properly. When I pressed the button once to switch on noise cancelling using the remote, I could see the green light come up on the battery, but there was no difference in the sound whatsoever which you could otherwise observe when you switch ON the noise cancellation using the battery. In this case, when I pressed the button on the remote again to switch it off, the green light went off but the sound quality still stayed the same. This, however is giving me an impression that the remote might not be working properly. Any form of help and support will be truly appreciated. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Toby 1980 No gimmicks it simply works
I tried a pair of senheiser headphones which offered multiple noise cancelling modes however they proved to be useless. In contrast these headphones simply work. The noise cancelling is very effective and the sound is great. Finally for me the fit it very good, as good as any wired headphone. I'm looking forward to trying the wireless version of these

Rated 5 out of 5 by Zoom11 Ideal for commuting
I've had these headphones for over a year now as I commute to London on the train each day. They are perfect to shut out the outside world and noise and lose yourself in music or a film on the iPad.
I've not had any issues with "popping" or drop outs on the train or tube and I can't emphasise how good these headphones are. If I've forgotten to charge them and the battery runs flat they still work as normal headphones but the difference without noise cancelling is startelling.
I honestly could not do without them for travelling or just walking about town, my only gripe is the wires as I prefer Bluetooth headphones (for sport etc) so I'm debating upgrading to the new version of these as they look very good too!
All in all if in ear headphones are your preferred choice like mine then I would but these in an instant, well worth the money and the quality of Bose speaks for itself.
