Yamaha
History
In 1887 Torakusu Yamaha made his first reed organ and started to take orders for more. In 1897 Nippon Gakki Co., Ltd. was established with Yamaha as President. Seven years later the company won an award at the St. Louis World Fair for the quality of its grand pianos.

From these musical beginnings Yamaha has gone on to develop products in a remarkable number of fields from audio-visual technology to IT products, home furnishings, sports equipment and motor-cycles.
