Joan
Think sophisticated, stylish, sexy and sassy and you've got the ingredients of the Joan Rivers Classics Collection!
The idea for this head-turning range was born when Joan's design partner, David Dangle, brought a choker into her dressing room at The Joan Rivers Show. For such a subtle piece, it had an enormous price tag, and Joan was outraged. She believed that costume jewellery should be all about fun and affordability; being able to dress as a wealthy woman without the worry or expense.
So, with some encouragement from QVC, Joan adapted designs from her personal jewellery collection and had them produced at an accessible price. Classic yet contemporary, her snazzy creations are timeless pieces that will never go out of style.
In 1990, Joan launched her new jewellery range, The Classics Collection, with QVC America, and in 1995 brought it to the UK.
There's no denying that this show-stopping selection shares its namesake's very own star quality - it's flamboyant, fashionable and downright flirty!
A glamorous icon for millions of women, Joan Rivers is a force of nature and one of the hardest working celebrities in the world. She's a comedienne, talk-show host, best-selling author, playwright, screenwriter, film director, actress, fashion critic, jewellery designer, businesswoman and - most importantly - mother and grandmother!
Joan is a woman with her finger poised on fashion's pulse. Consistently appearing on best-dressed lists around the world, she was awarded an ACE by the Accessories Council in 1997. And today, hers is the biggest international fashion jewellery company in the United States.
Born Joan Molinsky to Russian immigrant parents, Joan always knew she belonged on stage. Her unique brand of sharp humour took her from playing sleazy New York clubs in the late 1950s, to appearing on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1965. Within three years she was the host of That Show with Joan Rivers, and in 1986 her own Late Show with Joan Rivers was launched.
More recently, London's Royal Haymarket saw its first standing ovation in 14 years when Joan brought over her critically acclaimed one-woman show, Broke and Alone. This resulted in subsequent performances in Australia and LA gaining 'hottest ticket in town' status.
