Leighton Denny's nail care tips
Learn how to create a professional-style manicure at home.
File like a pro
- Ensure your file is in tip-top condition by washing it regularly in warm water.
- File in long sweeping movements from the side to the centre.
- As soon a split appears file the nail to seal the layers and prevent further damage.
Back to base-ics
- Clean your nails before applying base coat to minimise bumps and peeling polish.
- It's time to apply your polish when Under Cover base coat turns from shiny to matte.
- Create a simple and neat look by applying Crystal Finish top coat directly over Under Cover.
Colour up
- Try layering colours to see what exciting new shades you can create
- Roll the nail polish bottle between your hands to mix it up - as shaking can create those annoying air bubbles.
- Apply thin coats - the thicker the coat the longer it takes to dry. If you apply polish over a coat that isn't dry you can get indents and smudges.
- If you're going out straight after, ensure you have everything to hand: car keys, phone etc before applying your polish.
Go white gold
- Create a metallic effect by applying these products in this order: base coat, Golden Girl, Diamond Diva, and top coat.
