The designers needed a name that would embody Kipling's encompassing ideas of fun and adventure, so what better than to name it after the author of 'The Jungle Book'?
The question everyone asks...why the monkey? Well monkeys provide a link with 'The Jungle Book' and they're known for being playful and fun-loving, so the monkey quickly became established as Kipling's mascot.
Soon after, the monkey key-ring was born and it now comes with every bag. It's become a collector's item, and there's even been someone with no less than 425 monkey key-rings!
Each bag collection has its very own monkey and is named after a Kipling employee somewhere in the world.
