A tradition of innovation

Birkenstock started in a small German village over 200 years ago. It pioneered flexible arch support at the start of the 20th century and, in 1964, produced the first Birkenstock sandal. Since then there has been the Papillio seasonal range, hand-stitched shoes and many more creations and developments from Birkenstock.
