About the collection

Rosalyn Kwan
The quality for the money just astounded me and to get two bangles for that price, I would have paid that just to get one! All I can say is they are stunning.

Pearls of the Orient

Set in rich 14 carat gold or shimmering sterling silver, many of the pieces in the Gems and Pearls of the Orient collection take their inspiration from Chinese history and folklore. Delicate charms and motifs representing the symbols for good luck, health, wealth and good fortune are used to infuse each piece with positive energy that is said to be passed on to the wearer.

Gems of the Orient

Exotic and beautiful gemstones abound in the collection, including the most characteristic Chinese gemstone, jade, in delicious shades of green, red, yellow and lavender. Many other Chinese stones feature, such as onyx, lapis lazuli, peridot, serpentine and carnelian.

Luxurious cultured Akoya, baroque and Biwa pearls sourced from the Orient grace this lustrous jewellery selection. As well as the traditional pristine white pearl, there's also a colourful array of mocha, peacock, blue and pink gems.

About our guest, Rosalyn Kwan

With over 30 years in the jewellery industry, Rosalyn Kwan knows that beautiful gems and eye-catching design makes for gorgeous jewellery that you'll want to wear again and again.

She believes that, 'jewellery should not only be beautiful and valuable - it has to make the person wearing it feel that way too. Inside and out, the right jewellery should make you look and feel your best'.

Her love of semi-precious gems and pearls is perfectly translated into her desirable jewellery collections, and is a real favourite with QVC's customers. Very often she receives letters from the viewers, something she says inspires her in her work.

'From the first time I appeared on QVC I started getting "fan mail". Every time I get another letter it just puts a smile on my face, whether it's positive or otherwise. It means everyone out there is thinking about my jewellery and letting me know what they like or what they want to see - I couldn't do what I do without them!'

Ros answers a few of your questions:

Q: What do you think is the most versatile kind of jewellery?

A: I love something you can wear every day with everything. I'd say a string of beautiful pearls fits the bill, and even better, it becomes unique to the woman who wears it, as it takes on the lustre of her skin.

Q: Do you have your own favourite piece of jewellery?

A: Far too many to mention! Is it bad to have to have too many favourites? I don't think so!

Q: Do you like travelling?

A: I really enjoy my travels, but as most of them are for work, my favourite journey is the one back home.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?

A: The sheer challenge of it all, but mostly the fact that I get to work with wonderfully talented people every day. I'm lucky to have my husband and son as partners, so it's a real family affair too.
