Anne unveils her new jewellery collection at QVC
Well-known to millions as the friendly face of the morning on TV-am, Anne Diamond has an illustrious history in television. After founding the successful 'Back to Sleep' cot death-awareness campaign, she burst back onto our screens in reality shows 'Celebrity Big Brother' and 'Celebrity Fit Club'.
We caught up with Anne as she makes her final preparations before the launch of her very own collection of 9 carat gold and diamond jewellery on QVC…
Thanks for joining us at such a busy time. Everyone knows you as a television presenter but not as a jewellery lover - what encouraged you take this new direction?
I've always adored jewellery, and I always accessorised my outfits with my favourite pieces when I was on-air. I was forever being asked by the viewers where I found my jewellery, so I thought I'd develop my own collection that everyone can enjoy.
What was the inspiration for your jewellery collection?
My main inspiration comes from the time I spent living in Australia, and the wonderful colours of nature that I was surrounded by. I've translated that into my jewellery by using the three colours of gold - white, yellow and rose. I also love vintage jewellery, so I've tried to carry that look through my collection too. I really believe everyone should be able to enjoy affordable diamond jewellery - a little sparkle can really lift your mood!
What qualities were you looking for when choosing jewellery for your collection?
Superb sparkle and a modern setting - something that speaks of the 21st century but is still an instant classic. Hopefully I managed to capture a little of that in my collection.
Why have you chosen to launch your range with QVC?
Because QVC is the best in the business! Not only can you reach a wide range of customers, but they're also really knowledgeable about their jewellery, too. They know what they like - and I'm hoping they'll like my collection!
You've always been admired for the jewellery that you wear. Do you have any tips for our readers?
My first diamond was a pendant, which I wore with anything black. I would always recommend that you wear diamonds with the least fussy outfit you can - let the diamonds do the sparkling, everything else should be understated.
Do you have a favourite piece in the collection?
No, I love everything! I prefer to wear sets of diamond jewellery, I like the complete look.
Out of the many guests and fellow presenters you've worked with, who do you most admire for their accessories style?
It has to be Joan Collins. She never looks anything other than immaculate, and she always wears the most stunning jewellery, usually diamonds.
Don't miss the premiere of Anne Diamond's Jewellery Collection at 2pm on Saturday 22nd September.
