fill it your way I have used this planter for three years now,first year filled it with moss but could't get enough compost in ,so dried out very quickly.Since then have lined basket with black bin liners,with drain holes and just filled the top with plants.within a few weeks plants have grown over the top ,and hey presto you have a lovely display,no moss required.Use really good trailing plants ,and Richards compost. not very satisfactory I purchased two of these planters a couple of years ago. They are extremely difficult and expensive to plant up and keep. You need so much moss or the plants fall out. The moss falls out as it dries and the birds frequently pull out any remaining moss that they can get to. The baskets are very well made but the design just doesn't work very well. I gave up on mine a long time ago. I think you will have more luck with the plastic Easy Planters April 20, 2012

bad design These looked really nice watching on the show. Have had them for a couple of years and this year i gave up. The soil falls out when watering them. I used the big moss but makes no difference. If you use plants that are too big there is not enough depth. Bad design sorry. Two star rated because they look nice in winter with nothing in. Also can't find replacement liner that came with them. Have now got the Easy fill baskets which are fantastic June 20, 2011

Really disappointed I look forward to this product after watching the demonstration on the television, from what looked like a good idea turned in to frustration for me, i could not get the plug plants to stay in the planter maybe I should have bought bigger plug plants?. Then on watering the compost like others have said would run out of the bowl even with the big moss firmly packed in the bowl. I would not recommend this product to anyone, I think there are better products on the market for less money. maybe a rethink on the design . June 30, 2010
