Nice quality, disappointing colour. I received this set in "black" as a gift. I do admire the Honora products for the quality and weight of their cultured pearls. As other reviewers have pointed out, the hight street and other jewellers are often stocking inferior-looking pearls and charging more. If you have looked at pearls on the high Street, I am sure you will find that Ralph's pearls have important details, such as sturdier posts (on stud earrings) and pretty clasps. Having said that, I'm sorry to say I had to suppress a look of disappointment upon opening these, because they are not the colour of classic black pearls - more like a pale gun-metal grey. I thought at first glance that they were the silver version, and had to go check the colour on-line! I know that black pearls are never really black, but these are very different. So, not really what I was looking for, but I am keeping them as they were a thoughtful gift. April 27, 2013

Something new I bought 2 sets one Tuxedo for me and the other in white as a gift for my to be Daughter in law, who wore them on her wedding day, as something new. They are a super size and very well made, top quality, wear them together or on there own. I wore mine for an occasion all day and evening and forgot they were there, the beads don't twist or move at all. Go on treat yourself you won't be disappointed x March 08, 2013

Value for money I have been looking for a strand of pearls for my wedding and decided to try this. I have a 16.5" neck and this set of pearls sit perfectly, good length and substantial size. Many high street shops will have similar strands but the pearls are small and probably costs double the size for the strand alone. Of course this is rondel and not round pearls but they actually look more modern. If looking for a pearl set, definitely go for this. I got mine in white, will be ordering the black or gold next. This is my first purchase of honora pearls and am very impressed. A dear friend lent me a set of black pearls for my wedding outfit a couple of years ago and I truly fell in love with them and have been hunting for a string of similar size and quality ever since. I wanted something dark grey rather than actual black so the "black" set are perfect . I read the reviews before taking the plunge and can confirm everything already said about the lustre and weight and quality - fabulous. I bought mainly for the necklace but am so pleased to have the matching set as everything looks so good together I can't actually imagine ever wearing the necklace on its own. November 21, 2012
