Description

Gardenia's an English garden classic - enjoy it for yourself with this superb single plant. The Kleim's Hardy variety not only has a fantastic scent, it's hardy and remarkably tolerant too. Plant in any soil in patio containers or borders. Prefers full sun or light shade. Height/spread: 60cm to 90cm (24" to 36"). Features clear white flowers that smother the evergreen foliage from early summer to autumn. Direct despatch: allow 7-10 working days; UK mainland only.

Needs patience Very slow growing plant this is, i purchased two yrs ago and have only had a show of flowers twice, and that was only two buds at a time. They did smell delightful though, a heady powdery smell. The first year i had it positioned on the patio away from the house, but this last year brought it up to outside the back door as the leaves started falling and i felt it was too open to the wind and cold air. Despite it only gaining half its size , when we have frost and snow i put a plastic carrier over it and it has somehow survived. I'm wondering if you need a greenhouse for this plant to flourish. smaller than shown Had just bought the Wollemi pine and so was pleased with it that I adventured back in to QVC plants. Mine was much smaller than the one shown on TV but despite that I planted it out and tended to it lovingly. It even managed one flower which was very scented. Unfortunately, it didn't make it though the winter so I don't feel I can give it much more than 2 stars even though it was such a pretty plant. Perhaps others will have more luck as it is a lovely looking plant with exotic smelling flowers. May 15, 2011

very disappointed bought this last year abit small but quite sturdy.had 1 flower which had a lovely scent and it even started to grow a little.alas in spite of all my TLC the bad weather this winter seems to have seen it off .having always wanted one i must say im very disappointed. June 01, 2010

A pathetic specimen I purchased this plant in 2008, and although very very small when it arrived, it seemed to be just about surviving ok, and even grew a couple of leaves, but the slight frost last February 2009 killed it off completely. For me yet another Richard Jackson disaster. March 02, 2010
