Not as good as I had hoped
These looked wonderful on the television, but I found once they have expanded, they then start separating. So for the first hour they looked good, then I ended up with a vase of half water pearls at the top and the bottom half was just coloured water, which looked very peculiar. I also tried them with my daffodils - which didn't like them at all. So sorry, I won't be using them again

Great Product
I love these and have bought them as stocking fillers for friends for christmas. They look great either in a vase with flowers or with a candle. Try them you will not regret it.

Brilliant
These water pearls are such a good idea. I saw them online a while ago, and was glad when QVC had them.
Mine are used for growing actual plants without soil, I have a bamboo plant with some water, which I change when I think it needs it, and give the pearls a good rinse, and refill with fresh water, and I have no problems, my bamboo looks great.
I also have some bromeliads, without water, and they are fine. I just refill, and clean the pearls from time to time, and re-hydrate them if needed. And my bromeliads are fine.
I will eventually try other plants, that can be grown without soil, and see how they go.
Of course you need to look after the plants the same way you would with any other plant, by following the specific care guidelines for your individual plant, by feeding/watering/misting etc.
It's like anything else you have with water, you need to change the water occasionally, or the water will become stagnant, and the pearls over a few weeks, will eventually get dis-coloured. Even if you have no water in it, you still need to keep the pearls clean, as you do get a little water settling at the bottom after a while.
Clean the pearls by rinsing them in clean water, just put your hands in it and gently move them about, do this at least twice, then either drain off excess water, if no re-hydrating is needed, or put them in fresh water to re-hydrate, if needed, and after that they're as good as new.
If you go online, you will get a lot of help on how to use, and look after your water pearls. I found the information very helpful.
Hope this was a bit of help for anyone interested in using water pearls or have them already.
I must say my pearls, along with their plants, are always admired by everyone who sees them.

Not so good when in a vase with water!
They are great if you don't put water in the vase - you lose the effect and the beads disappear into a solid colour. No good with fresh flowers but OK if using to give silk flowers and effect. Will be going back to using my glass beads, sorry QVC.
