What is Manuka honey?

Manuka honey comes from New Zealand where beekeepers set up their hives in wild uncultivated areas in which Manuka bushes grow. The bees gather nectar from the flowers of the Manuka bush and the honey-making process is enriched by the relatively unpolluted environment. Manuka honey has been used for centuries by the Maori people.

A must have for the whole family I bought this set with the intention of trying the propolis gel on my teenage son's acne. He has severe acne on his face and back and has been on antibiotics for it for months at a time. He decided to come off the antibiotics and his acne is back with a vengeance, so I was looking for a natural treatment to improve his skin and after reading the reviews for propolis I decided to give it a go, and I am so glad I did. It has only been a few days but already my son's acne has calmed down, the spots have reduced in size and the improvement is significant. The propolis gel is so soothing, it sinks into the skin easily and is immediately calming on the skin. My son is enjoying using the gel, he doesn't need to be nagged to put it on, he is seeing and feeling the benefits for himself. It is such a relief for him to find something that works. I am using it myself as a facial moisuriser, it is lovely. My husband has used it on a cold sore and in 2 days the cold sore is almost away. The arnica is a staple in my house anyway, I am never without it. My sons play a lot of sport and put it on immediately after any injuries and my husband puts it on his back whenever his back feels stiff. It helps the healing process, we are utterly convinced of that. I really like the shower gel and body butter which were an added bonus, they smell divine, very fresh, and the body butter is incredibly moisturising and soothing on the skin, better than any other body moisturiser I have used, even better than L'occitance shea butter, in my opinion. Why have I not tried this sooner? I am so impressed with this range of products from SBC. The arnica and propolis gels are just wonderful and don't leave my skin at all sticky or tacky which I was convinced they would. I have applied the propolis as a body moisturiser underneath the body butter and my skin has never felt so velvety smooth and deeply nourished. I'm not sure whether it is recommended, but I have also applied the propolis gel to my entire face, again under my daily moisturiser and night cream (both Elemis) and I am amazed at the improvement in the texture and hydration of my skin. Absolutely no sensitivity whatsoever. The arnica gel really has eased the aches and pains I have as a side effect of medication and I can also imagine it will cool and ease hot, tired feet and legs in the summer. The shower cream and body butter are also very nourishing and will last for ages. I was a little unsure of the aroma at first but persevered and found I actually liked the smell after a few applications. The body butter is not in the least bit greasy, my skin feels velvet-like after application. Almost like the way a make-up primer makes your facial skin feel. Devine Arnica and Propolis are staples in my house and my parents home, which i have already reviewed in another set. I want to talk about the bath and butter products, they are devine the smell is great and my old skin feels so soft after use, i live alone which is a bonus when you have a fab product you dont want to share, i hide a few loving products when friends come for a stay, but my daughter uses on her and my grandaughter when they arrive unexpectedly, dont mind really as they are big sizes. Love it, Love it xx I have been using this collection for over a week and the results are amazing. I personally love the smell or the shower creme and the butter. I have learnt that the using a smaller amount of the butter is quicker to rub in. My skin is lovely and soft. I have sore knees but the arnica is fantastic and I have start the gym and this has been a god send. I was interest to read previous reviews about using it on pets. I used the propolis on both my greyshounds as they get lots of scratches because their skin is so thin well this gel is brilliant and I used the arnica on my old greyhound's paws because he loves a long walk but being an old timers it takes it out of him. His paws have been better. I love SBC. January 19, 2013
