Behind the brand

Kipling was founded in Belgium in 1987 by three friends who wanted to create high-quality bags that were chic, feminine and fun! Named after the well-travelled author Rudyard Kipling, each bag in this practical, affordable and colourful range comes with a trademark monkey keyring.

The Kipling monkey

The monkey was the natural choice of mascot for Kipling bags as it's a symbol of fun and adventure and also synonymous with Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book. Now a collectors item for many fans, every monkey is named after a Kipling employee, and each collection comes with its own individual monkey.
