Anthony Heywood

High flier Anthony was originally set for a life in the skies. When he was 17 he won a scholarship to train as a fighter pilot, but soon realised that there's no business like show business, and declined the RAF's offer.

Anthony's first tastes of the entertainment industry included working at a Manchester radio station and performing at the Oldham Theatre Workshop. He moved to London, and, after a spell of working in bars and shops, became production manager for a Channel 4 roadshow programme, where he was soon launched into the position of main presenter. His laid-back charm and friendly manner led a producer to suggest he'd make an ideal shopping channel presenter. After working for other retail channels, Anthony says he's now very happy to be at the home of home shopping!

Anthony's zest for an active lifestyle means he loves to snowboard, fly and spend time outdoors. A big fan of travelling, his recent adventures include trips to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Las Vegas and Dubai. But even when he's on holiday, he finds it hard to get away from work – while in the US, he landed a job hosting parties and events on a Disney ship cruising the Bahamas!

Anthony's technical know-how makes him ideal for presenting QVC's technology and home entertainment shows. He's a whiz in post-production as well as in front of the camera. He even runs a small production company when he's not presenting for QVC or hosting a new gameshow on the Nation 217 channel. When we asked Anthony what he does in his spare time, he answered 'Spare time? What spare time?!'.
