Reviews & Customer Q&A

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing As with the previous review I too find it loses water. Even after taking it apart and reassembling to try to get the bowls to hang over as much as possible there is water loss. Thre is little room for manuovre with the bowls as the rings they sit in are fixed. It needs full sun to keep the water retained within the feature. As soon as the sun fades a little the speed of the water slows down and hence the water loss over the edges of the bowls. I keep the solar panel out of the sun altogether when not at home and only expose when at home so as not to damage the pump. Such a shame. Too expensive and too much of a bother to return. Rated 1 out of 5 by water feature owing to a design fault the water drips from the bowls on to the ground causing it to need refilling every couple of hours.Looks attractive but as you can't adjust the metal arms to avoid spillage is virtually useless.Had I set it up in time I would defineately have returned it. Rated 4 out of 5 by Very good for the price It has taken two summers for me to buy this as I wasn't sure and the green hasn't been in stock very often. The frame was a bit of a struggle to put together but was ok with a bit of manipulation. The trickling water is very soothing and it does stop and start as you would expect. I am happy with the way the pots sit and their quality. I have had problems keeping water in the pots and on one occasion it ran dry an hour after filling which can damage the pump. After keeping an eye on it, I found three reasons why it lost water. Firstly I didn't have the pots lined up as accurately as they could have been and some of the water was going over the edges. Secondly, a breeze caused the water to blow away from the pots instead of falling as it should. Lastly I found that the bowls worked a bit like those famous glass jugs we all have, in that when the water was just trickling due to intermittent sunshine, the water would run down the side of the pots as there was insufficient power behind the water to create the flow. The first two were easily addressed by adjusting the pots and placing the whole thing somewhere sheltered from the wind. I have decided that the third problem can only be addressed by regularly topping up the water on days when the sunshine is erratic, or by turning the panel away from the sun and just enjoying watching the birds and cats enjoy the still water. I did contact the suppliers and there is a kit available to convert to a pump which will store power but it is almost as costly as the original item. I am happy to enjoy it for what it is and will be packing it away in the autumn. May 14, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not very stable While the pots are nice and heavy, I have to say the frame you put them on is very wobbly and difficult to put together - the bits don't fit. We noticed the main bowl was empty every morning but as we hadn't had any sun we couldn't work out where the water was going. I then noticed that the pots weren't sitting very well on the frame so we've bodged it up ourselves to keep them stable and level. I dread what a strong gust of wind will do to it. Not terribly impressed. May 09, 2011

Rated 1 out of 5 by My worst ever QVC purchase When I saw this on TV it was selling out really quickly, so I hurredly purchased it in the blue to go with the other accessories in our garden. Next time, I won't react so quickly ! The product arrived very well packaged, but the frame that it all sits in is bent out of shape so the pots don't sit in straight and the water doesn't trickle into each pot as it should and therefore we have to keep topping the water up as it all ends up on the ground. As the solar panel has to be in direct sunlight constantly, the slightest bit of cloud meant that it stopped working as the solar panel doesn't store sunlight. When it did work, the trickle of water could barely be heard. The birds in the bird bath made more noise ! Just waiting for the courier to come and take this back May 04, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Really pleased...so far... Arrived just in time for our Royal Wedding garden party but sadly didn't get adequate sunlight to show it off on the day. It has however been flowing well ever since and is a lovely addition to the garden. Have to agree with previous reviews that the pots do not sit well in the holders and also hoping that the glaze lasts and the pots remain in one piece. May 02, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Waste of money Bought this for my patio in the blue to match my planters. Easy to assemble, but when it is hot and sunny the reservoir of water soon evaporates leaving the pump running with no water. When the weather turned suddenly cold, before being able to drain and put away for the winter, the jug - and only the jug - threw all its glaze and cracked up. So for me it was a total waste of time and money. May 02, 2011
