Rated 5 out of 5 by Woodles Loving this purchase
Recently received this pilates machine and am really enjoying it. I don't enjoy exercise and find even a walk can cause issues with my jounts but have found this quite fun to do especially as a beginner but I can really feel the work being done on my core. As you can remove or add the cords it really can work with your level of experience and flexibility. Can't wait to see how much I can improve over time. Worth a try if you want a workout that's gentle on your joints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NixyPixy Excellent value
I don't often review but I had to say something about this machine and Marjolein.
Firstly the machine is well built and sturdy which was a surprise as it's such good value.
Secondly, Marjolein who champions the product is an excellent teacher and very experienced about the machine and Pilates. She's such a good ambassador for the product.
Reviewers have commented about the weight. The kg is given in the details. But the point is you don't carry it!! It's folded in half so when you want to put it away or move it, you just put it on it's side, fold it, put in the pin to secure and then slide it vertically. You then push it like a buggy as its on wheels. I used to keep mine under the bed, but it also went in my alcove cupboard. I struggle with my joints and have arthritic everything, but with care I can fold it, slide it up, and move it into another room without any bother. I walk with sticks and have quite deformed hands so if I can do it....
I wonder if some people are trying to lift it? That would be too much so please guys don't try.
There is a technique and I believe the instructions tell you what to do. Please don't it let the weight put you off. It has to be a certain weight to be sturdy.
I got the stand for mine eventually and dedicated a room for it! I now use it every day. Sometimes I just use it as a raised mat to do basic Physio stretches. Sometimes I just do the trampoline exs, sometimes just the back stretching, sometimes just the arms.
I always know I exercised the next day!
Not in a bad way, but it does work you well.
I have rheumatoid arthritis and most exercise methods make me much worse. This has never made me worse. I get to walk, jog, do star jumps, plies, pull ups etc and all lying down!
What's not to like!
The only down side is I have to limit my aerobic session to 10 minutes in lying as I get a bit nauseous. It's gone as soon as I change position to do a kneeling exercise. I then go back to lying exercises for 10 minutes, then I will do a stretch etc. I get around it easily. So don't worry if it happens to you. Just stop start the exercises that cause it.
It is possible to put it away after you've used it, do it with two of you until you've got the knack.
Unreservedly recommend this particularly if other forms of exercise are not available to you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DayDreamer Good to try
I am not a very active person, but decided to try to make a change. The presentations seem to suggest it would be suitable for all. However I found it too difficult. I did make some progress during the 30 day mbg, but not enough to convince me to keep it. The machine is well built, but not suitable for all abilities. It's also very heavy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dogfriendly Very heavy to manoeuvre
I think this product looks fantastic to use, I'm disappointed that I couldn't try it ! It looks very easy to lift on the demonstrations , it was stated that it was good for people with ms and me to use , which it probably is .... UNFORTUNATELY ... It would have to stay out permanently which isn't ideal , as it is far too heavy to lift and manoeuvre with limited strength . I have also pulled my back in trying to lie it down and pull it together so it has to go back as I need to be able to get it out to use it .. And I cant :(((

Rated 5 out of 5 by jackbites Studio Pilates at Home whoop whoop
I've just received my machine and am super thrilled I've done studio pilates sessions previously as I have a problem with my hips and spine and really enjoyed and they were really helping me mend, but had to give them up as the studio was too far away from me, so this is just fabulous studio pilates at home. Well constructed and everything well packaged, I've just done the first DVD to get me going, it's all good so far so good, am looking forward to being able to do this daily :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by deemac Finally - something I can stick to!
I love this machine. I was a regular gym attendee, until I went back to work full time. The gym is jam packed during the evenings and it just wasn't fun anymore. But being in my mid forties, with an office job, I needed to continue with some sort of exercise. This is perfect, and so much fun! I am only five feet tall, and whilst it was a bit of a struggle to get it out of the box I assembled it on my own. Once assembled it is pretty easy to put up and store... Takes two minutes. The videos are excellent, and really enjoyable. The first one was far too easy, so I quickly moved on to the next two, which are anything but! Having said this... And this is the key point... I have enjoyed using this every single day, sometimes for over an hour while I watch TV, and I have never once had an injury. My core is stronger, which was key for me for this purchase, and I feel more confident. I have only been using this for 2 weeks, and I cannot imagine going back to sitting around doing nothing. My husband, who is very much into martial arts, absolutely approves and said my shape has become much leaner looking. Coupled with an eating plan I honestly believe I will also lose the stone or two I need to lose, but I can see improvements to my shape. Yes, this is a considered purchase, but one I would highly recommend even for the fun factor alone. The health benefits are an added bonus ;) I had never done Pilates before but now I am a definite convert!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Raychill Great at home workout option
As a single parent this really appealed as it seemed to be a way I could workout in the evenings after the children are in bed. I just can't get to the gym in my day/evening so need workout at home options.
I found it pretty easy to assemble, and it stores nicely against the wall in my living room. It is less obtrusive that I thought it might be. I also find it OK to fold out and fold back after each use, though I am sure that this can be improved further on later models - it's not perfect. I don't have the space to have it permanently set up, so the folding aspect was a major selling point for me. I am happy to set it up/out it away each time I use it & it only takes a couple of minutes.
I enjoy the exercises and I feel as though I am getting a good workout doing 10 min cardio plus the basic pilates workout (about 20 min). I'm doing it 3 times a week and I am starting to feel stronger especially in my core. The cardio is quite a workout - I can't imagine doing longer than 10 minutes at this stage.
On the "one cord" exercises I am having to use 2 cords otherwise I'm not "returning" properly, but I thinks this is because I'm at the heavier end of the scale to use the equipment.
The machine is fairly quiet though I do get a clunking noise as the wheels go over the fold/join in the middle. Again it would be great to see this improved.
I feel really good after a workout, it is easy but hard if that makes sense - challenging but not off putting. I'm very hopeful that using the reformer will help me achieve my goals of toning up, gain core strength and an increase in cardio fitness, all of which took a big hit after having 2 children in my forties and not having much time to myself out of the house.
I think the DVD's are very expensive to buy individually and I would like to see all the workouts on one DVD for the price charged.
I'll report back after a few more weeks of use - I took my measurements at the beginning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by capybara brilliant but bulky
The negative is that it is quite heavy and some people would struggle to move the box and assemble it on their own, once that's done it's easy to fold and move. You do need quite a bit of space to use it, probably an area about the size of a double bed but I just have to move my coffee table. Storage is not that simple.
I just mentioned this as it's not made entirely clear. This is the only reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars. And I can tell that this is all to enhance the quality of the reformer.
On the plus side it has help me in the 2 weeks I have been using it!
I had pains in my legs and feet when I tired to sleep and they are gone! And I have only been working through the first disc as I am quite overweight and unfit.
I have dodgy joints in my left leg but even using the rebounder is not an issue.
It is very well made and quite quiet to use.
As long as your not short of space I would highly recommend this machine!
